During the past several weeks the boards of CV Youth Softball and Chenango Valley Little League have been in discussion about the softball program joining the CVLL charter. After many positive, enthusiastic conversations it’s official! CVLL will now be home to both youth baseball and softball for the greater Chenango Valley community.

What is the benefit of softball joining CVLL? Chenango Valley Little League is an official charter of Little League International, an 80 year organization and model of success. The softball program will now be governed by CVLL, with former softball board members now integrated within the CVLL board. This approach strengthens opportunities for all CVLL players - baseball and softball. Merged efforts will solidify general operations and  fundraising. And all players will benefit from Little League International’s well-established rules designed for fair and safe play and its many systems including background checks for coaches/volunteers.

It’s not about baseball or softball - it’s about community. And we’re thrilled that Chenango Valley Little League is now a combined league to serve all children. Stay tuned… in January CVLL plans on hosting a registration event for the 2024 season. We look forward to reconnecting and welcoming new families into the program.
