Parent and Spectator Guidelines
Parents and spectators play a crucial role in creating a positive and supportive environment for youth baseball players. Here are some key guidelines to follow:
Be a Positive Role Model: Demonstrate good sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy to all players, coaches, officials, and fellow spectators. Your behavior sets an example for the athletes.
Respect Coaches and Officials: Allow coaches to coach and officials to officiate. Refrain from questioning or criticizing their decisions during games. If you have concerns, address them calmly and privately at an appropriate time.
Encourage, Don’t Criticize: Focus on praising players for their efforts and improvements rather than emphasizing winning or pointing out mistakes. This fosters a supportive atmosphere that promotes learning and enjoyment.
Maintain Self-Control: Avoid engaging in unsportsmanlike conduct such as booing, taunting, or using profane language. Remember that the game is for the youth, and maintaining composure helps ensure a positive experience for all.
Respect the Game’s Integrity: Familiarize yourself with the rules of baseball to better understand the game. Appreciate good plays by both teams and refrain from interfering with the game or coaching from the sidelines.
Ensure a Safe Environment: Refrain from using alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substances at games and practices. Ensure that the environment is safe and free from any behavior that could endanger the health and well-being of the athletes.
Support Team and League Efforts: Volunteer when possible and express gratitude to those who dedicate their time to coaching and organizing the league. Your involvement and appreciation contribute to a thriving baseball community.

By adhering to these guidelines, parents and spectators can help create a positive and enriching experience for all participants in youth baseball.
